Yes, bio-fabrication machines which manufacture living tissue structures do already exist, but currently they are massive, a task to operate and also very expensive. BioBots have created a machine which is basically a low-cost 3D printer, small in size and also very efficient.
BioBots have created the machine to be simple in the way it operates, with the 3D printer clones taking a CAD model and then creating it inside the build area. Being able to shrink the size of the BioBots machine is due to the fabrication material used. The specially-engineered ink can build living tissues and organs by mixing with living cells.
Of course, at this current time the technology still hasn’t advanced to a stage where you can actually print functional organs, but the machine is being aimed at pharmaceutical companies who can use the printer to create scaled models of organs for research purposes.
